Our Story

The Story of Hemlock: Built for the Grounded Hunter

It started in 1987 with a lawnmower.

I was 13 years old and spent every waking hour of that summer mowing grass. I wasn’t saving for a bike or a stereo; I was saving for a Ben Pearson compound bow and a three-finger glove. When I finally walked out with those aluminum arrows, I felt like I was uptown.

Like it does for many of us, life eventually moved in. College, career, and raising two daughters took center stage, and archery drifted into the back of my mind—a fond but distant memory.

The Rediscovered Passion

In 2011, my cousin Todd told me to grab a bow and get in the woods with him. I bought a used Mission, climbed into a treestand for the first time, and it all came rushing back.

In a world that moves too fast—where cell phones and social media are constantly pulling at our attention—the treestand became my saving grace. It’s the one place where my mind settles and I truly feel grounded.

Tradition Over Gimmicks

I started Hemlock Precision Gear because I wanted to build a life that revolves around the outdoors, my family, and my friends. I want to show the next generation what they’re missing when they stare at a screen instead of the horizon.

The ReNocker™ wasn't a corporate brainstorm. It was born after years of concepts, failures, and "bad ideas" in my own shop. I wanted a way to stage an arrow that was silent, reliable, and made with the kind of "left-handed logic" that only a hunter understands.

Our Mission

We aren't interested in being a faceless corporation. We’re the "old school" guys keeping the tradition alive. We build American-made, noise-free solutions for hunters who demand stealth and respect the woods.

My name is Tucker Painter, and I’m glad you’re here. Let's get back to basics.
